Robert F. Davis papers, 1932-1992 [manuscript]

This collection reflects Robert Foster Davis' extensive research in materials engineering, and specifically on ceramic turbine engines. Included in the collection are research notes and course materials for Materials Engineering classes taught by Davis, lab reports, and research notes related to glass and ceramics and to Davis' work with the advanced gas turbine propulsion engine system. Also contains professional correspondence relating to Davis' research, research reports on Ceramics Engineering processes, records of Davis' involvement with the American Ceramic Society (of which he was named a Fellow), and speeches and papers written by Davis.

Davis received his B.S. in Ceramic Engineering from North Carolina State University, an M.S. at Pennsylvania State University, and a Ph.D. from The University of California, Berkeley. He came to North Carolina State University in 1972 and continues (as of 2008) to serve as a professor in the Materials Science and Engineering Department. From the description of Robert F.
